Indian Association of Rhode Island

Indian Association of Rhode Island’s mission is to form a common bond among the people of Indian origin living in Rhode Island. To preserve, foster and honor the diverse social, cultural, and educational heritage of India in RI, especially the younger generation, and to promote the same in the mainstream American society so as to enhance mutual understanding and goodwill between the Indo-American community and mainstream American society.

IARI has been serving the community for almost two decades. Dance BFF and PADAM are two RI based dance schools that aim to bring Indian culture to the mainstream through Indian dance styles. While Dance BFF brings jazzy and upbeat rhythms with Bollywood, folk, and fusion Indian dances, PADAM emphasizes the beauty of Indian classical roots specializing in the Kuchipudi style of dance.

Rupa Datta, Rutuja Patil, Prafulla Vellury and Arathi Nambiar, along with their dancers, will be representing India Association of Rhode Island.  Together, these groups will perform a large range of dances from classical Indian, to folk, to fusions of Bollywood.

Be part of the vision and experience color, movement, tradition, and dance.
